Bělá Nad Radbuzou: Hotels and Accommodation

Bělá nad Radbuzou lies at the confluence of the Radbuza and the Bezděkovský potok. The river setting here meets architectural history, viewpoints, and trails.

Culture and History

Bělá Fortress was built around 1614 by Wolf Josef Lamingen von Albenreuth in the Renaissance style. After it ceased to serve as the residence of the estate owner, it was used as housing for administrative staff. Today, the reconstructed Bělá Fortress is, among other things, home to an information centre. It is protected as a cultural monument; the Czech Ministry of Culture declared it a cultural monument.

The Baroque Bridge over the Radbuza was probably built in 1723–1725, modelled on Prague’s Charles Bridge. It is decorated with six Baroque statues of saints and serves pedestrians and cyclists.

The Church of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows originated as a chapel built in Bělá in 1696–1697 and was later extended. After a fire in 1826, it was rebuilt and enlarged.

The Kocovy kameny consist of rocks bearing inscriptions left by cheerful hunting parties. They are distinctive stone cultural monuments near Bělá nad Radbuzou.

Landscape and Trails

The Pohořelec viewpoint is located on the hill of the same name at an elevation of 524 metres above sea level. From there, you can enjoy a view of the southwestern panorama of the border mountains, with the peaks of Ostrý and Velký Javor in the Bohemian Forest, as well as Čerchov, Velký Zvon, and Přimda.

The Pohořelec viewpoint can be reached from the town square of Bělá nad Radbuzou in the direction of Bor; the final section follows a path through a meadow.

In the area around Bělá nad Radbuzou, cycling routes pass through wooded terrain with almost untouched nature. The educational trail in Bělá nad Radbuzou leads through part of the picturesque landscape above the Radbuza valley.
