Chocomyšl: Hotels and accommodations

Chocomyšl combines traces of local history with ponds, a stream and named trails. Its distinctive features are particularly visible in individual buildings, landscape connections and routes.

Culture and history

The “Kuchyňka” hunting pavilion is a small structure belonging to the art of garden and landscape design. It was built in 1825 as part of the Chudenice hunting landscape, as a resting place for walks and hunts, and as an open-air kitchen for hunting events. The pavilion is a single-storey masonry building with a regular hexagonal floor plan.

A reconstructed statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from 1708 stands in Chocomyšl village square. The former Chocomyšl château was later used for agricultural purposes.

Local tradition connects the Kvapilova ponds with Jaroslav Kvapil’s libretto for the opera “Rusalka”. The Žďár educational trail runs along both Kvapilova ponds.

Landscape and recreation

Chocomyšl lies in the valley of the Merklínka stream. Part of the Chudenicko landscape monument zone extends along the southeastern edge of the Chocomyšl administrative area.

A central park with a children’s playground is located at Chocomyšlský Pond and can be used for a short break. An oak avenue runs along the pond’s dam.

Walks in nature are considered an opportunity for a short break in Chocomyšl.

Cycling route and public transport

The approximately 55 km-long Chudenice cycling circuit passes through Chocomyšl and is intended for experienced cyclists. Public transport bus routes stop in Chocomyšl.
