Chodov u Domažlic lies on the slope of the ridge of the Český les, below the monument to Jindřich Šimon Baar near Výhledy. The cadastral area also includes Čerchov: at 1,042 metres, it is the highest mountain in the Český les.
Nature and Landscape
The Čerchovské hvozdy National Nature Reserve also covers the cadastral area of Chodov u Domažlic. The nature reserve is accessible to the public only via marked trails.
At the Chodovské skály rock formations, there is a wooden shelter with benches and a view of the summit of Čerchov. The countryside around Chodov is ideal for hiking and cycling.
The Zlatá stezka 12 then passes through Chodov with its folk architecture.
Culture and History
Two houses in Chodov are designated as cultural heritage monuments. The village's sights also include the Chapel of St John the Baptist, which dates from around the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries.
The history of Chodov is connected with the Chod people as border guards and their uprising from 1692 to 1695. Another of Chodov's sights is the monument to Master Jan Hus.
