Losiná probably has older, early feudal origins. The transfer of Losiná took place in 1327 under Jaroslav ze Štěnovic.

Culture and Townscape

The historic centre of Losiná consists of a long, spacious, street-like village square with a stream running through the middle. Several traditional farmsteads have been preserved on the village square; their entrance gates, both vaulted gates and newer pier gates, are very well preserved. On the road to Nebílovy stands a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk on an Ionic column; the year 1740 is inscribed on its pedestal.

Buildings and History

The Chapel of St. Anne was built in the second half of the 19th century and has been protected as a cultural monument since 6 October 2006. The small Neoclassical building has a square floor plan and a pyramid roof topped by a small bell tower. Architecturally, it is particularly valuable for its geometric design and balanced proportions as a strictly centrally symmetrical building.

On 11 October 1620, during the Thirty Years' War, the village of Losiná was raided by Hungarian cavalrymen serving the Bohemian estates. The Antonínská silver mine in the vicinity of Losiná was in operation for about fifty years from the end of the 17th century.

Events

The Havelské posvícení festival in Losiná is celebrated on the first Sunday after the feast day of Saint Gall. From Saturday to Monday, amusement rides, swings and shooting galleries are set up in front of the cultural centre. The following Monday, the traditional Pěkná hodinka takes place at the cultural centre in Losiná.

The Losinský triatlon features categories for individual competitors, relay teams and children. In the vicinity of Losiná, the Vojtěšská pilgrimage takes place on the first Sunday in May at the Church of St. Adalbert in Planiny, in the Nebílovský Borek district.
