Culture and History

The Baroque Chapel of St. Margaret was built in 1691 on the 662 m-high Markétin vrch northwest of Oselce. From Oselce, it can be reached via a green-marked hiking trail approximately one kilometer long; access is only occasionally possible. On the way to Markétin vrch stands the Oselce memorial lime tree, with a trunk circumference of 525 cm.

In the forest above Kotouň stands the niche chapel known as Kloubovka. A spring rises inside it, and local tradition attributes healing effects to its water, particularly for joint and limb pain. Čertův hrad is a chapel by a pond east of Nová Ves on the road to Nezdřev; the site is associated with a local legend about boulders left behind by the devil.

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands in Kotouň; it was built between 1703 and 1705 on the site of a church that burned down in 1475. The church complex includes a preserved ossuary and a low Baroque bell tower dating from 1696.

The Muzeum motorek v Oselcích is a small exhibition of historic motorcycles on the ground floor of the Oselce municipal office. Motorcycles of the Jawa and ČZ brands are displayed there.
