Tlumačov: Hotels and accommodations

Tlumačov combines an outstanding cultural monument with a location in the Přírodní park Český les - Domažlice protected area. The Church of Saint Martin is considered an outstanding cultural monument; its preserved structural features and details provide valuable evidence of medieval and modern-era architecture. The oldest known form of the church was built after 1289.

Culture and History

Another special feature is the chapel in Tlumačov. The hexagonal building has a pyramidal roof and a sheet-metal-clad bell turret. At the same time, the chapel is an example of a village chapel from the early 19th century.

The Spálený vrch mountain is located in the vicinity of Tlumačov. The surrounding area is also home to the mountains Čerchov, Dreiwappen, and Schindelhöhe.

Northwest of the Choden municipality of Tlumačov lies the 513-meter-high hill Kubíčkova skála, also known as Velká skála. The viewing platform on Kubíčkova skála is located about 1 kilometer from Tlumačov. A freely accessible viewing platform was built at the summit in 2012. From this platform, there are views of the Kdyňská pahorkatina hills with the peaks Koráb and Rýzmberk, the Šumava Mountains in the Nýrsko area, and the Czech-Bavarian border ridge.
