Zámek Trpísty Castle stands on the site of a medieval fortress belonging to the Lords of Gutštejn.
Culture and routes
Zámek Trpísty Castle was built in 1729 according to plans by the architect Jakub Auguston ml. for the owner of the estate, Prosper ze Sinzendorfu. It is an outstanding example of High Baroque architecture in West Bohemia and is part of the broader context of Central European Baroque architecture of the 18th century. The castle's house chapel of Panny Marie Pomocné contains a painting of the Coronation of the Virgin Mary. The Zámek Trpísty complex also includes a castle garden and a park.
A central polygonal masonry chapel stands on the village square in Trpísty. From there, the cycle route follows route 2214 along a dirt track above the valley towards Sviňomazy. Zámek Trpísty Castle is one of the attractions along the “Úterský potok až po Trpísty” cycle route.
Nature and landscape
The regional biocentre RBC Trpísty extends partly into the municipality of Trpísty and includes riparian vegetation, meadows and forests. The administrative area of Trpísty includes a section of the Úterský potok canyon along its entire northeastern boundary.
In the municipality of Trpísty, the ecological corridor of the Úterský potok includes, among other things, natural river courses and their riparian vegetation, wetlands with marsh thistles, floodplain forests, rocky vegetation, blueberry pine forests and acidophilous beech forests. The components are predominantly only partially functional, and locally fully functional.
