Culture and History
The Church of St. Nicholas was built in the first half of the 18th century around an older medieval church, which remained part of the structure. The earlier Church of St. Nicholas presumably already stood in Tisová in the 13th century; it was built in the Early Gothic style and structurally connected to a nearby fortress.
In the center of the Church of St. Nicholas is the entrance to the Born family crypt; the crypt was used at the end of the 18th century. Next to the church stands a monument to 48 victims of the First World War.
St. Nicholas is normally closed and opens to the public only during services. For an individual visit, guests can inquire at the municipal office about the keys and be shown around the church.
