Všepadly combines a water-management landmark in the south of the area with flat to gently sloping terrain. Všepadelský rybník is an important landscape and natural feature of Všepadly, covers approximately 7.8 hectares and is fed by and accompanied by the Merklinka stream.
Landscape and routes
A cycle route and a tourist route run through the area of Všepadly and are used to connect touristically attractive places as well as for hiking and cycling. The 34 km-long M 1 (1411) tourist route runs via Domažlice, Chrastavice, Milavče, Hradiště, Netřeb and Všepadly onwards towards the Klatovsko and Švihov areas. A side road leads through Všepadly; afterwards, cycle route No. 2192 continues to Černíkovo.
Mount Běleč lies in the vicinity of Všepadly. The hills Všepadelský Škarman, Pupky and Velký Kouřim are also located nearby.
Culture and history
Všepadly was first mentioned in 1379. In the centre of the village, between houses No. 13 and 14, stands Monument No. 1873. It bears the inscription “Padlým rodákům všepadelským 1914 – 1918”; the monument features nine photographs of fallen soldiers.
The rectangular Chapel of the Virgin Mary from the 19th century stands near Všepadly on a low hill southwest of the village, beneath lime trees. It formerly contained the early Baroque Všepadly Madonna. The approximately 2 m-high statue comes from the demolished Church of sv. Václava in Úboč and is now kept in safe custody. The hexagonal Chapel of sv. Václava in Všepadly dates from 1775 and has a tent-shaped roof.
The “Josefa Hergera” mill, house No. 18, is located in Všepadly. Above Všepadly lies the large Košetice farmstead, of Baroque origin. Several buildings in the village date from the late 19th and early 20th centuries; they are designed in the eclectic style with raised gables and sculptural façade decoration.
