Čermná: Hotels and Accommodation

A wooden observation tower stands on Křemel near Čermná. It is permanently and freely accessible and offers views of the Český les and the Chudenická vrchovina.

Landscape and Village Layout

Čermná lies in a hilly landscape that slopes gently to the southwest, at the foot of Křemele Hill at an elevation of 430 to 455 metres above sea level. In the predominantly agricultural surroundings, meadows, fields and bodies of water alternate. The village is laid out on gently sloping terrain around a small village square with a chapel. On the outskirts of Čermná, near the access road from Staňkov, there is a sports field and a children’s playground. Čermná has regular bus service.

Culture and History

The Chapel of the Apostles Saints John and Paul, located on the village square, is a protected cultural monument. Its bell tower dates from 1897; in 1909, a wider nave was added to the original chapel. The chapel was extensively renovated in 2001. In Čermná, Masopust is one of the traditional community events.

Nature and Trails

A 14 km KČT circular hiking route from Staňkov leads via the Lacembok castle ruins and the Křemel observation tower to Čermná. At the Křemel observation tower, there is a shelter with a table and benches, a swing and other play equipment for children. A nearby pond near Čermná is used for swimming and fishing.
