Nature

The Dírenský potok stream flows through Dírná. The floodplain of the Dírenský potok has a natural stream bed and contains fragments of natural ash-alder floodplain forest communities.

Dírná Chateau Park is a valuable example of landscape gardening.

Culture and History

The Dírná chateau grounds include a brewery. Kryštof Vratislav built Dírná Chateau on the site of a fortress that burned down in 1636. František Adam Vratislav remodelled it in the Baroque style in 1757–1759.

The Church of Saint Lawrence in Dírná is of Gothic origin and dates from the 14th century. Its main altar features a Gothic wooden statue of Saint Lawrence from the 15th century. The church is a parish church where services are held regularly.

Access to Dírná Chateau is via a stone bridge leading to the ground floor of the former tower.
