Moyne: Hotels and Accommodation

Mojné has the character of a rural farming village, with several large agricultural estates, smaller farms and simple cottages. The municipality of Mojné comprises the three historic settlements of Černice, Mojné and Záhorkovice. This original character has been partly altered by renovations and new construction since around the mid-20th century.

Trails and Nature

Cycle Route 1197 runs through Černice, Mojné and Záhorkovice. Above Rájov, it can be accessed at the Zlatá Koruna–Harazim bus stop. A red-marked hiking trail leads from Harazim to Černice and continues via Jílkův mlýn to Mirkovice. A yellow-marked hiking trail begins in Černice and leads to Kulichův kříž and on to Chabičovice.

The Blanský les Protected Landscape Area is located near Mojné.

History

Mojné belonged to the property of the Svatá trnová koruna monastery for more than four and a half centuries. Mojné and Černice are mentioned in a document from 1315 as possessions donated by Bavor III of Strakonice to the Svatá trnová koruna monastery.

The traditional celebration marking the end of the carnival season, featuring the special “Koníček” ritual, was held exclusively in Mojné. It differed from the processions customary in the Doudlebsko region, which featured rose or straw motifs.

Karel Hrdina translated the “Autobiography of Charles IV” and Cosmas’s “Chronicle of Bohemia”. A memorial plaque is located on Karel Hrdina’s birthplace in Černice.

Culture and Townscape

In Černice, the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene forms a well-preserved ensemble with a bell tower, mortuary, cemetery wall and a passage ossuary integrated into the wall. The rectory in Černice is essentially late Gothic; this is evidenced by the preserved saddle portal on the ground floor.

In the center of Mojné stands an original forge with a bell tower; the municipal office and a shop are also located there today.

The Chapel of Saint Sebastian in Mojné was probably built before the mid-18th century. Its niche contains a wood carving of Saint Sebastian; at the same time, the chapel is an example of high-quality small-scale architecture.

The listed farmstead No. 3 in Záhorkovice is not open to the public.
