Culture and History
The Chapel of St. Wenceslas is located between Borotice and Filipov. It was built in 1865; Josef and Marie Angr provided the funding.
In the cadastral area of Borotice, on the right bank of the Jevišovka and on a raised river terrace, lies the Nad dvorem archaeological site. It comprises 29 burial mounds from the Early and Middle Bronze Ages.
In the wider surrounding region of Borotice are Karlslust Castle and Ludwigstorff Castle; both are castles. Also located in the wider surrounding region is the Freedom Cross, a wayside shrine. The Hubertus Chapel, a church, is also situated in the vicinity of Borotice.
Landscape and Nature
Petrovická Pustina [Božice-České Křídlovice] is a hill in the immediate vicinity of Borotice. Vraní vrch [Krhovice] is a hill in the vicinity of Borotice. Leskoun and Václavský Kopec are mountains in the wider surrounding region of Borotice.
The Natura 2000 site “Jevišovka Site of European Importance” runs along the riverbed of the Jevišovka. Despite the technically modified riverbed, the Jevišovka Natura 2000 site is valuable because of an exceptional hybrid complex of loaches that is highly significant at the regional level. It also contains an important macrophyte site of flowing waters, which is now rare in the Pannonian region; the population there is one of three known populations.
Wine and Regional Trails
Borotice has a historic row of more than 50 wine cellars dug into loess deposits. This row of cellars is located along a route used by cyclists that continues towards Znojmo.
