Culture and History
Lysice Chateau is a Baroque building erected on the site of a Renaissance water castle and features richly furnished interiors. The chateau also houses a permanent exhibition about the writer Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach.
The Lysice Chateau gardens feature a promenade colonnade with a covered pergola. The terraced chateau gardens and the adjacent orangery are open to visitors. Lysice Chateau offers guided tours of its reception rooms; the chateau courtyard can be visited without a guide.
The Church of St. Peter and Paul is one of the oldest churches in the area and was first mentioned in 1390. It is accessible during services.
Every year, Lysice Chateau hosts concerts as part of Concentus Moraviae, the international music festival of Moravian towns. The traditional Zámecké feérie takes place at Lysice Chateau in June and includes numerous cultural events.
Landscape and Nature
Marked hiking and cycling trails run through Lysice and the surrounding landscape. One marked hiking trail that passes through Lysice leads visitors to the ruins of Rychvald Castle. The nearby remains of the castle consist of fragments of walls and filled-in cellar rooms.
Lysicko Nature Park, together with the neighboring Halasovo Kunštátsko and Svratecká vrchovina nature parks, forms a system of protected landscape areas preserving the untouched landscape.
