Tvarozná Lhota: Hotels and Accommodation

The Trail of Life in Tvarožná Lhota includes mountain biking loops and natural singletrack trails through the landscape of the Bílé Karpaty.

Nature

The artificial Lučina water reservoir lies in the Bílé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area. Its surroundings are suitable for hiking and cycling. Blue-, yellow- and green-marked hiking trails, as well as cycle route No. 46, run around Lučina.

Rare orchids and other protected plants grow along the Orchidejová educational trail. The trail passes through the Vojšické Meadows complex and the surrounding area in the Bílé Karpaty. The 15-km-long Orchidejová educational trail can begin at the Lučina recreation area.

The Oskorušová educational trail runs through the foothills of the Bílé Karpaty from Tvarožná Lhota to Radějov and up Žerotín Mountain. It is marked with a red diagonal stripe.

Activities

The entrance to the Trail of Life is located at the Lučina recreation area, where there is a large pump track and a small skill centre.

The Travičná Lookout Tower stands in the cadastral area of the municipality of Tvarožná Lhota, in the location known as Vrchy. On the map, it can be found under Travičná; Travičná is the summit of a 380 m-high hill. The viewing platform is reached via 177 steps, and the view is at a height of 34 m.

Culture

The Oskeruše Museum is dedicated to agriculture, vernacular architecture, as well as food and gastronomy. The Oskeruše Museum includes the Oskorušová educational trail, where protected, majestic service trees can be seen, including the Adamcova service tree, estimated to be around 500 years old.

The atrium below the Travičná Lookout Tower houses a permanent exhibition about the nature and culture of the Bílé Karpaty and about service trees. The Salaš Travičná complex contains a small museum of the timber-built Kopaničář structures of a salaš. There is also a children's playground with play elements made from natural materials, including walk-through “mouse tunnels”, as well as an arboretum with 23 native woody plants of the Bílé Karpaty.

The annual Oskorušobraní takes place on the third weekend of September at the Salaš Travičná complex; during Oskorušobraní, varieties of service trees are presented and tasted.

The Rolnický dům in Tvarožná Lhota, house no. 187, is a listed adobe house from the late 18th century. It retains its original layout with a hallway, living room and chamber, as well as traditional materials such as unfired bricks, hand-hewn wood and forged nails.

The Museum of Rural Life and Tvaroh was open during the season from June to September, Friday to Sunday, from 13:00 to 17:00. Local cultural events in Tvarožná Lhota include the costumed Fašank carnival in February. The Slavnost oskeruší festival also takes place in Tvarožná Lhota in February.
