Dražůvky: Hotels and Accommodation
Dražůvky lies in the valley of the Trkmanka at the foot of the Ždánský les. The Ždánka cycling route runs along a former railway line, is 9 kilometres long and is ridden there and back. Its surface is smoothly paved and the route is mostly flat; it is also suitable for small children as well as scooters and inline skating. The Ždánka route in Dražůvky also features a replica of a railway stop with an exhibition.
History and Culture
The first written mention of Dražůvky dates from 1340. A church stood here in the 14th century. Archaeological finds point to the continuous settlement of Dražůvky from prehistoric times to the present day.
The historic town of Dražovice was situated on an old trade route and had the right to collect tolls on the adjacent Hungarian Road. Markets were held in medieval Dražovice. The religious monuments of Dražůvky include a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk.
The Chapel of Saint Anne in Dražůvky was restored in 2016. A chapel with a bell tower in Dražůvky was built in 1892 by Prince Jan of Liechtenstein.
Traditions
The traditional Hody celebrations take place in Dražůvky every August. The inhabitants of Dražůvky maintain the old traditions of Slovak folklore. The costume rental service in Dražůvky stocks exclusively traditional costumes historically associated with the “severní hanácké Slovácko” region. Costumes from the costume rental service can be rented by residents of Dražůvky and other municipalities.
