Ostrovánky: Hotels and accommodation

The Sobůlský stream rises at the upper end of Ostrovánky and flows into the Kyjovka below Kyjov. The hills above the village offer views across Moravian Slovakia. The Kyjovská wine trail also passes through Ostrovánky, running from Bukovany through the village to Nechvalín.

The first written mention of Ostrovánky dates from 1141. Four archaeological sites have been discovered in the cadastral area. The folk costume tradition of Ostrovánky belongs to the northern Hanácko-slovácká region.

In Ostrovánky, the tradition of raising the maypole is maintained with gatherings of men's and women's choirs from the surrounding area, along with cimbalom music. The tradition of the St. Wenceslas folk festival in traditional costumes has also been preserved.

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary is the oldest building in Ostrovánky and dates from 1882. It was built by the Sadílek couple from Ostrovánky and declared a cultural monument in 2004.

The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas was built as a small church in 1929 and consecrated in 1931. The chapel contains a painting of Saint Wenceslas by Jano Köhler.

The 650-metre-long Alej vzpomínek was planted in 2017 as a memorial avenue for relatives who are no longer among the living. It is located on the road between Bukovanský mlýn and Ostrovánky. The trees belong to 161 families from the area around Bukovany and bear the history of their ancestors. An entrance gate to the Cesta českých panovníků rises above the avenue; access to the small viewing platform is free of charge.

The Štěpán Novák monument stands on the outskirts of Ostrovánky in the direction of Bukovany. The inscription records that Štěpán Novák was born in Ostrovánky on 20 November 1898 and fell on the Italian front on 9 September 1917.
