Dražovice: Hotels and accommodations

Dražovice combines ecclesiastical history with a public outdoor swimming pool – two specific features of the town that you can take into account when booking a hotel.

Culture

The Church of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist in Dražovice was built in 1888–1889 on the site of an older church. Antonín Cyril Stojan was the parish priest in Dražovice from 1888 to 1908 and completed the construction of the church during this period. The oldest written record of the parish dates back to 1382; at that time, a local priest named Gracius is documented there.

The Church of Saint John the Baptist complex forms a heritage ensemble comprising a cemetery, boundary wall, gate, wicket gate, and a two-flight staircase. Below the church stands the Baroque rectory, built in 1792. Dražovice is also home to a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from 1900. June 24 is designated as the feast day of the church’s patron saint, Saint John the Baptist. The anniversary of the church’s consecration is commemorated on August 25, marking the consecration of the church on August 25, 1889.

Outdoor swimming pool

Koupaliště Dražovice is a public outdoor swimming pool operated by the municipality of Dražovice. The main swimming pool measures 44 × 19 meters and is 2.75 meters deep. Koupaliště has a children’s pool with a paddling pool and slide, as well as a newly reconstructed pool and a children’s paddling pool. Two parking lots are available in the immediate vicinity of the swimming pool.

Nature and cycling routes

The Dražovice Grove is suitable for walks and continues into the groves of Letonice and Němčany. For cycling trips, recommended cycle route 1 runs through Dražovice and Větrník and is 28.4 kilometers long. Recommended cycle route 7 is a 58.6-kilometer loop connecting Vyškov, Dražovice, and several surrounding towns and villages.
