Železné: Hotels and Accommodation

The educational trail “Cesta ráčka Železníka nejen za železem” provides information via inset interactive panels about the local biocentre and the fauna and flora found there. Carved and forged elements along the trail depict local animals, plants and features of the surrounding nature. The educational trail also has rest areas and benches.

The local Hradisko biocentre is located below Hradisko. On the slopes of Hradisko are the remains of two former quarries; crystalline limestone was once mined there. Hradisko is dominated by species-rich thermophilous grass and herb communities. Paní hora is located in the vicinity of Železné. Střela, Zlobica and Sýkoř are located in the surrounding area of Železné.

The recurring event “Železo v Železném, aneb setkání kovářů u piva” gives visitors the opportunity to watch blacksmiths at work. At the “Železo v Železném aneb setkání kovářů u piva” festival, adults and children can try blacksmithing, wood carving or wirework under the guidance of experienced masters and take home a souvenir they have made themselves.

The traditional Inspiro MTB Cup for children up to 14 years old takes place on a grassy area beside a cycle path behind the town in the direction of Železné.

Železné is served by frequent bus connections. The town is 2 km from Tišnov; Tišnov is connected to Brno by train and bus services. In the wider region around Železné are Brno Zoo, Lužánky Park and Sady Osvobození.
