Kanice: Hotels and Accommodations
Kanice is located approximately 10 km northeast of Brno, in a mild valley between wooded hills on the southern edge of the Moravian Karst Protected Landscape Area. The cadastral area extends as far as the Svitava River.
Landscape
The immediate surroundings of Kanice include Stádla. Baba and Babí Lom are located near Kanice. In the wider regional area, Zlobica is also located nearby.
Culture
Obřany Castle was built in 1278 by Gerhard ze Zbraslavi as the ancestral seat of his family. It is classified as an immovable cultural monument and an archaeological site. A system of medieval roads leading to the castle and a medieval road to the former lime kilns have been preserved near the castle.
The ruins of Kuchlov are located in the surroundings of Kanice. In the wider regional area are the ruins of Hrádek and Veveří Castle.
Activities and Excursion Destinations
The municipality of Kanice operates the Chocholky cycling trails as an outdoor sports facility in the municipal forest. The Jaroslav Marcha Circuit is 14 km long. Brno Zoo is also located near Kanice.
