Culture and History
The Church of Saint John of Nepomuk stands in the square at the centre of Podolí; in Podolí, it is a cultural monument. The commemorative event “Napoleonic Fires on Žuráň” takes place every year on the anniversary of the Battle of Austerlitz, attended by soldiers in uniform. The Babské hody celebrations, held in traditional costume, take place on the last Saturday in August.

Podolí lies below the southern slopes of the Drahanská vrchovina, on both sides of the Říčka stream. The 1.9435-hectare Horka natural monument in Podolí protects thermophilic steppe communities on Kulm conglomerates.
