Culture and history

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie) was built between 1760 and 1762 as a cemetery chapel and remodeled into its current form in 1860. Since 1958, it has been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. At the same time, it is a subsidiary church of the Roman Catholic parish of Lukov u Znojma.

The municipality of Milíčovice had the bell tower restored. The coat of arms of the Althann family can still be seen above the entrance to the Althanský hostinec. The Althanský hostinec served as a relay station for stagecoaches and is a historic cultural monument built around 1750 at the behest of Michal Antonín Althann.

Nature and cycling routes

Quiet forest and country roads around Milíčovice are suitable for easy excursions toward the natural areas of Podyjí and for observing nature. Preserved small religious structures, including Boží muka, stand along the old country roads in the cadastral area of Milíčovice.

Milíčovice has an easy connection to regional cycling route 5007. The international long-distance cycling route EuroVelo 13 – Iron Curtain Trail is accessible in the vicinity of Milíčovice.

The traditional Posvícení festival in Milíčovice includes a procession through the village accompanied by the Sebranka band.
