Kozárov: Hotels and Accommodation

Kozárov lies on the western slope of Babylon Hill in hilly terrain with wide-ranging views. A considerable part of the cadastral area lies within the Svratecká hornatina Nature Park. When planning your trip, you can also decide whether you would like to book a hotel in Kozárov.

Nature

The “FROM KOZÁROV TO KRKATÁ BÁBA” route is 19 km long, with part of the route able to be covered by bicycle. It begins at the Kozárov bus stop and ends in Újezd u Černé Hory.

In clear weather, the Jeseníky Mountains with Praděd to the northeast and the Pálava Hills to the south can be seen from the Babylon Lookout Tower. The site includes refreshment facilities, toilets and a covered shelter for approximately 100 people.

Kozárov has a regular bus service and is accessible by car year-round.

Culture

The Chapel of St Anne was consecrated in 1919. It was intended to be built in memory of a tragedy and in honour of its patron saint, with a statue of St Anne.

Four crosses stand on the access roads to Kozárov. The pilgrimage to St Anne includes a pre-pilgrimage gathering and a pilgrimage celebration.

In Kozárov, Masopust is celebrated with a Masopust procession. Traditional slaughter specialities can be sampled at the Zabíjačka at the lookout tower. The Krojované hody in Kozárov include an entertainment programme, an Ortel and a traditional dish featuring ram.
