Marked cycle paths run through the surroundings of Roubanina. The village was founded in the immediate vicinity of a crossroads of important trade routes.
History and Culture
Roubanina was first mentioned in writing in 1356. The local cultural history includes the Sokol theatre group: from 1922 to 1933, it performed a total of 28 plays. From 1945 to 1962, a further 14 productions were staged; its activities ended in 1962.
Historically, Roubanina was home to, among others, bakers, carpenters, blacksmiths, coopers, wheelwrights, shoemakers, men's tailors and seamstresses. RÓBANINSKÉ SLIVOVIČKE was listed as the 11th edition in 2026.
Sacred and Architectural History
For the Church of St. Andrew in Roubanina, Sunday services are listed at 9:30 a.m. in the 2nd and 4th liturgical weeks, as well as services for the current week.
The Church of St. Andrew was extensively rebuilt in 1923–1924; a nave and a depot were added during the reconstruction. It has an elongated floor plan with a slightly recessed five-sided chancel.
In 2003–2004, remains of rare 14th-century frescoes were uncovered and restored in the Church of St. Andrew in Roubanina.
The late-medieval Tvrz Roubanina was originally part of a farmstead. Today, only a slight elevation remains in the garden of house no. 4.
