Malešovice: Hotels and accommodation

The defining features of Malešovice include the Church of Saint Stephen and the river landscapes of the Jihlava. This local character is complemented by protected sculptures, monuments and a signposted cycling route that runs through the village.

Culture

The Church of Saint Stephen is a protected monument and a distinctive landmark that characterizes the townscape of Malešovice. Its core is a Gothic structure from the 14th century. The tower has a four-sided clock. The church grounds also contain a stone cross from 1771, which together with the church forms an ensemble of artistic and historical value.

Other landmarks in the village include the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, a protected stone sculpture from 1737 on the road towards Kupařovice, as well as the distinctive protected statue of Saint Florian from the late 18th century in the central park. The Zděná boží muka is also a protected monument and stands on the road to a former mill. The Holy Cross, a sandstone monument from the 19th century, is also located in the park at an intersection.

Nature

Meandry Jihlavy includes one of the last naturally preserved sections of the lower Jihlava without major technical modifications or interventions. The Přírodní park Niva Jihlavy protects a characteristically natural meandering course of the Jihlava with a network of riverside trees and oxbow lakes.

The European Natura 2000 site Meandry Jihlavy is located within the territory of Malešovice. The Malešovice area is also recorded as a habitat of the specially protected fish species sekavčík horský.

Cycling route

The signposted Brněnská vinařská stezka runs through Malešovice. The route is 92 kilometres long and mostly paved; it is designed for gravel, trekking and road bikes.
