Trails

A green-marked hiking trail runs through the cadastral area of Popůvky from Střelice railway station via Kývalka to Obora at the Brno Reservoir. A yellow-marked hiking trail leads through the cadastral area of Popůvky from Žebětín towards the Augšperský stream behind Horní rybník, continuing via Kývalka to Tetčice.

Culture

Popůvky is a well-known Neolithic archaeological site near Brno. The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk is located in the village square in the center of Popůvky; together with the cross standing beside it, it is one of the local monuments in Popůvky.

Wilhelm Puttik is considered the most prominent native of Popůvky. He became known for his research into underground river courses in Slovenia, the first descent into the Gradišnice Gorge, and the rescue of a group of speleologists from Lurloch Cave near Graz in 1894.

In front of the new municipal office building in Popůvky stands a marble block dedicated by Slovenian speleologists; a commemorative plaque is located on the school building.

Transport

The bus stops on Nová Street and at U hřiště were moved back to the former stops at Kaplička and Vintrovna.
