Moravský Písek: Hotels and Accommodation
Kačeník was built around the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries by the landowners of the time, the Lords Želečtí of Počernice, as a facility for catching live ducks with the help of a trained dog. Today, the facility is no longer operational, but is relatively well preserved and is the only facility of its kind in the Czech Republic and Europe.
Culture
The Church of St. Anne is a prominent landmark of Moravský Písek. One of the village’s protected sights is also a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1746.
Kačeník is located near the bridge over the Nová Morava on the road to Veselí nad Moravou, on the edge of the Dolní les floodplain forest. In summer, there are drying ponds and former branches of the Morava River.
