Nová Ves: Hotels and Accommodations

Nová Ves is located on the edge of the Oslava Nature Park.

Nature and Trails

North of Nová Ves, in a side valley, lies Svatá voda, a prolific spring of very tasty mineral water. A yellow-marked trail runs near the village from Oslavany through the Oslava Valley to Senoradský mlýn. Studánka U Berana lies on the yellow-marked trail between Senorady and Oslavany.

From Nová Ves, Studánka U Berana can be reached via a paved forest road followed by the yellow-marked trail; the spring is 1.5 km from the village. Studánka U Berana, also known as Pramen U Dobré vody or Pramen lásky, is considered one of the most prolific water sources in the Oslava drainage basin.

History

Nová Ves is a former wine-growing community. Around 1410, the village was founded after the abandoned settlement of Řevušín, which was already mentioned in 1230.

Culture and Events

The Rozmarýnové hody festival traditionally takes place in Nová Ves every year at the end of September. The stonecutter family Majer, which originated in Nová Ves, also maintains a lasting connection with the wider surrounding area: the family made stone crosses and statues that are still distributed throughout the wider area today.

Sports and Everyday Life

Nová Ves's school sports complex includes a covered multipurpose hall with a telescopic structure for ball sports. The complex also includes an indoor swimming pool with complete facilities.
