Odrovice: Hotels and accommodation

The architectural landmark of Odrovice is the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians. The Neo-Romanesque building, dating from 1900, is listed as a monument of local significance in Odrovice.

Culture and history

At the southern edge of Odrovice, a wayside chapel stands by the road and is registered as an immovable cultural monument. The late Baroque structure has a triangular ground plan, three narrow niches, and a three-sided pyramidal roof covered with beaver-tail tiles. It is topped by an equal-armed cross with wrought-iron plant decoration. The chapel dates from the second half of the 18th century.

Another monument is the Boží muka wayside chapel in Odrovice, a late Gothic monument dating from 1521. Its figurative decoration depicts Saint Andrew, the Mount of Olives, and the Crucifixion. The chapel is regarded as an exceptionally valuable cultural monument; its significance lies both in its artistic execution and in the historical memory of the landscape. A relief panel has been preserved on the building. Beneath the only surviving sculpture of Saint Andrew is an architecturally designed, non-figurative console.

The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands by the church in Odrovice and is registered as an immovable cultural monument. The valuable Baroque sculpture, dating from 1772, was created by the Moravian sculptor Ondřej Schweigl. It stands on an architecturally distinctive pedestal enclosed by a stone balustrade.
