Černvír: Hotels and Accommodation

Černvír is located in the Svratecká vrchovina Nature Park and in the valley of the Svratka River.

Geographical Location

Mount Sýkoř is located in the vicinity of Černvír. The surrounding area also includes Mount Babylon, Mount Víckov and Mount Střela. The Brno Zoo is located in the wider regional area.

Culture and History

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands on a rocky promontory above the Svratka River. It was probably built around 1228. The church contains rare wood carvings and Gothic wall paintings.

A covered wooden bridge in Černvír crosses the Svratka River. It was built in 1718 and is 35 metres long. Its supporting structure still consists almost entirely of the original fir wood.

Experiences

The Fantasy muzeum & galerie in Černvír displays robots, submarines and airships. The sculptures are inspired by Jules Verne, Karel Zeman and Karel Čapek; the works are designed in the style of steampunk and trash art.

The traditional Černvírské hody invites visitors to dance to the music of Bystřická kapela.

Routes

One listed route runs from Prudká via Doubravník railway station, Černvír and Nedvědice to Pernštejn Castle. The third stage of an educational trail runs via Nedvědice, Sejřek, Doubravník, Černvír and Nedvědice.
