Synalov: Hotels and accommodation
Synalov combines protected natural monuments, distinctive gneiss formations, and preserved rural architecture. Other defining features include a historic chapel, the ruins of Osiky Castle, and regularly held events.
Culture
The Chapel of the Guardian Angels in Synalov was built in 1883. The center of Synalov is known as an “Okrouhlice” – a circle of around seven large farmsteads surrounding the central village square. Synalov also preserves houses featuring original Podhorácko folk architecture.
The ruins of Osiky Castle lie mostly within the cadastral territory of Synalov and are protected as a cultural monument. A newer footpath provides access to the site of the ruins of Osiky Castle.
Nature
The Synalovské kopaniny comprise the upper slopes extending southward from Sýkoř toward Synalov, at elevations of 554 to 672 meters. Exposed gneiss blocks are found there, forming one of the longest block streams in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.
Horní Židovka is a protected natural monument in the cadastral territory of Synalov. The area features a rocky gneiss ridge with frost cliffs up to 10 m high. Klášterce comprises a rocky ridge extending from Synalov toward Lomnice.
Míchovec is also a protected natural monument. It extends across the cadastral territories of Běleč and Synalov and features frost cliffs, block fields formed by rockfalls, nivation hollows, and fissure caves.
Pilský rybníček is a protected system of a pond and millrace in the Besének valley between Synalov and Strhaře. The pond is a habitat for rare aquatic plants and an exceptional spawning site for amphibians. Pod Sýkořskou myslivnou is a 25-hectare nature reserve in the cadastral territory of Synalov.
Things to do
The Jára Cimrman educational trail follows a yellow tourist trail marking from Lomnice u Tišnova to the hut below Sýkoř. One station on the Jára Cimrman educational trail, at the Pod Synalovem signpost, is dedicated to Cimrman's Plostika.
Events
The pilgrimage of the Guardian Angels takes place in Synalov every year on the first Sunday in September. The “O Synalovský pohár” pétanque tournament is also held in Synalov every year.
