Culture
Kostel sv. Filipa a Jakub has a Romanesque-Gothic core. The church complex is surrounded by an enclosing wall with a Baroque gate decorated with statues by Štěpán Pagán.
The cemetery chapel of sv. Anny was originally built in 1887 by Josef Vojna as a family crypt. The chapel contains the original altar. It is open to the public; services are still held there twice a year.
Other cultural monuments in Pavlice include the Holy Trinity ensemble and a wayside shrine on the road to Boskovštejn, which is listed as an immovable cultural monument. Pavlický dvůr is also designated in Pavlice as a locally significant Baroque farm complex.
Landscape
East of Pavlice, the Pavlické louky were registered as a significant landscape element in 2000. The meadows lie on both sides of the road to Boskovštejn and consist of natural mesophilic to wetter meadows with significant grass vegetation typical of southwestern Moravia.
History
During the Thirty Years' War, Pavlice lay on the Imperial Road, the most important connection between Znojmo and Jihlava. The former coaching inn in house no. 1 in Pavlice is now a listed immovable cultural monument.
Near Blažkovský rybník, F. Vildomec discovered evidence in 1930 of a significant settlement of the earliest farmers with pottery from the Linear Pottery culture. The archaeological finds near Blažkovský rybník date to approximately 5,400 BC, are about 7,400 years old, and belong to the Early Neolithic.
The sculptor Karel Pokorný was born in Pavlice. His works include, among others, “Sbratření” and depictions of Božena Němcová and Alois Jirásek.
