Culture
The Church of Saint George in Strachotice was built in 1744. The church complex, which is protected as a cultural monument, includes a mortuary, the associated land, an enclosing wall, and a gate. After the fire of 1776, the church was soon restored. In the Micmanice district stands the Baroque Chapel of the Holy Angels; services are held in the chapel.
History
The millrace on the Dyje is an important technical monument and probably originated in the 13th century. Strachotice was established at an important ford across the Dyje. In the 16th century, the millrace was extended through Slup to Jaroslavice. The watermill in Micmanice was first mentioned in 1302; it currently houses a small hydroelectric power station.
