Strážovice: Hotels and Accommodation

Strážovice is home to the branch chapel of the Holy Trinity, one of its late Baroque buildings. Its dynamically designed three-axis façade features valuable Baroque sculptural decoration.

Culture

The original Chapel of the Holy Trinity was built between 1751 and 1753. In 1792, it was expanded into a church.

Opposite the chapel stands a small Baroque château dating from the first half of the 18th century.

The grave of the painter Jan Köhler in the local cemetery is decorated with a Madonna mosaic that he created himself during his lifetime. Jan Köhler lived in Strážovice from 1926 to 1941.

The Krojované hody in Strážovice include a procession in traditional costumes, traditional songs and dancing. On Sunday, a service in the local chapel is also part of the celebrations.

Nature

Strážovice lies on the southwestern slope of the 417-metre-high Babí lom hill. Babí lom is the highest point of the Kyjovská pahorkatina.

Green- and yellow-marked hiking trails lead to the summit of Babí lom; Strážovice is 1.5 km from the summit. Cyclists can reach Babí lom via a paved road.

South of Strážovice stretch rolling fields with solitary trees and copses. The landscape is compared to Tuscany.
