Suchov: Hotels and Accommodations

The mountains Hradisko, Lesná, Kobylí Hlava, and Kamenná Vrata are located in the surroundings of Suchov. Its location on the edge of the Bílé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area defines the geographical setting of the village.

A prominent feature of the village is the Chapel of St. Luke. It was consecrated on October 23, 2005; its altar contains relics of Saint John Sarkander. Since then, services have been held regularly in the chapel, every Sunday and Wednesday. At the upper end of Suchov, there is also a chapel dating from the 15th century.

The local history also includes the Súchovská republika, which was founded in 1882 and has been maintained to this day. The wider regional area is home to Branč Castle [Podbranč], Kaštieľ Sobotište Castle, the U Kapliček Church, and Buchlov Castle.

The settlement of Suchovské Mlýny belongs to the municipality of Suchov. It preserves buildings of folk architecture from the 19th century and consists of enclosed mill yards that have since been converted, with a history dating back to the Middle Ages. The Suchovské Mlýny mill system lies on the banks of the Jamné stream between Javorník and Vápenky.

The 35-kilometre Česnekářská cycling route, classified as easy, passes through Suchovské Mlýny and Suchov. The “Cyklotrasa Bílé Karpaty – Javorník – Velká Javořina – Suchov” cycling route reaches the upper end of Suchov.

The Velká Javořina circular trail passes the monument to Stanislav Tomášek in Suchov and continues from the monument in Suchov to the Suchovský Háj signpost.
