Vacenovice: Hotels and Accommodation

Vacenovice makes its history visible in specific places: in the center stands the old Habánský cellar, which probably dates back to the 16th century. Its exhibition is dedicated to Habaner pottery and includes originals and replicas, a model of a Habaner house, and discovered Habaner kilns. It can be visited during the office hours of the Vacenovice Municipal Office by prior personal or telephone appointment.

Culture

The Muzeum Vacenovice uses the front living area dating from 1904 as a museum and farmhouse room. The former stables, added in 1946, have been converted into a small hall for smaller exhibitions and lectures. Since 2008, the Muzeum Vacenovice has been collecting, processing, and presenting historical and ethnographic information and artefacts, which it also rescues and restores.

The local cultural life also includes Omladina, an association of young people who meet regularly and practise dances and local customs. Omladina performs in traditional costumes at various celebrations.

Nature

The Jezero Nature Monument in the cadastral area of Vacenovice u Kyjova protects wet to waterlogged meadows, a shallow body of water, and a willow-poplar grove. Vacenovice lies in a flat to gently hilly landscape on blown sands; the surrounding area is predominantly covered by pine forests.

The Náklo hill lies on the boundary of the municipalities of Vacenovice, Ratíškovice, Milotice, and Dubňany. A lily cross and seated statues of the merchant Sámo, Saints Cyril and Methodius, and Prince Rastislav stand there; the site also offers views in all directions.

From Vacenovice, Salaš Rúdník can be reached via a paved forest road and is suitable for a walk or a cycling stopover. At Rúdník, Habánský dvůr has created a natural area with a barn, stage, and sales wagon that offers refreshments during the warmer months.

Local Life

The Žlébky vineyard cellars comprise more than 20 cellars. They are used by local winemakers to process grapes and store wine. In front of the cellars is a well-maintained lawn where cultural and social events are held in cooperation with the municipal administration and local winemakers.
