Svatobořice-Mistřín: Hotels and accommodations

The bell tower with a chapel, dating from 1719, is the oldest surviving structure in Svatobořice-Mistřín. It was restored in 1996 and fitted with a sundial. The entrance to the former manor farm is decorated with stone heads from the mid-17th century. They depict the two-faced Roman god Janus and are called “svatoborské opice.”

Svatobořice is also home to the last surviving painted house by František Bimka. Another cultural connection is the Slovácký soubor Svatobořice-Mistřín ensemble: the ensemble offers various types of performances, focusing primarily on dances typical of the region. Demonstrations and instruction in individual folk dances are also available, each accompanied by cimbalom music.

The area of Svatobořice-Mistřín lies in a hilly landscape crossed by the Kyjovka River, adjoining the Dolnomoravský úval basin. In the wider surroundings of Svatobořice-Mistřín, the landscape of “Moravian Tuscany” features gently rolling fields, areas crossed by roads, individual trees, copses, and white chapels.

The Mutěnická wine trail is also one of the region’s landscape features. It is a 64-kilometre circular route. Around Hovorany, Šardice, and Svatobořice-Mistřín, the trail includes more challenging terrain.

The Vinařství Josef Dufek winery has its own kitchen, where local gastronomic specialties are prepared for guests. The winery uses grapes from its own vineyards covering an area of 46 hectares and grows 30 grape varieties.
