Tetčice: Hotels and Accommodations

In the oldest part of Tetčice stands the Chapel of St. Florian, dedicated to Saint Florian and built in the Romanesque style in 1764. Its tower was added in 1886, and the chapel also has a steel bell made in 1918. Near the Tetčice railway station, a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands on a rocky hill.

The Tetčice Calvary group consists of a cross and two pylons with reliefs of Saint John the Evangelist and the Virgin Mary; it was erected in 1850. To preserve cultural traditions, the local folk costume, Tetčický kroj, was restored. The Chapel of St. Peter and St. Paul is also located in the vicinity of Tetčice.

At 444 metres, Bučín is the highest point of the wooded Bobravská vrchovina ridge. A group of nine mighty, ancient beech trees stands on its summit and is visible from far away. Above Tetčice lies the approximately one-hectare stand known as “Bučínská štětka”, which is almost 200 years old. In the Tmavý žleb valley on Bučín stands a European beech estimated to be 300 years old, making it one of the largest and most imposing trees there.

The Helenčina studánka spring is located in the vicinity of Tetčice. Nearby are Bučina Hill [Tetčice], Trojice Hill and Na Bučíně Hill [Tetčice].

The Bučín educational trail is easy, has a paved surface and nine stations; approximately three hours are allotted for the visit. It can be visited year-round and is also maintained in winter. The Naučná stezka Bučín educational trail presents the natural, forestry and historical features of the Bučín forest district in Bobrava Nature Park.

The Bobrava Valley around Tetčice invites visitors to take walks through extensive forests and deep stream valleys. The Bobrava Valley around Tetčice offers opportunities for mushroom picking as well as observing wildlife and birds. Brno Zoo is located in the vicinity of Tetčice.
