Libotenice: Hotels and Accommodation

In Libotenice, the gallery of decorated Easter eggs is open year-round. It displays more than 1,200 Easter eggs made using traditional techniques. Visits can be arranged by appointment via email or telephone.

Culture

The Asociace malířek a malířů kraslic České republiky has been based in Libotenice since 1998. The municipality organizes seasonal exhibitions in the Church of Saint Catherine of Alexandria. Regular services are held in the Chapel of Saint Isidore.

History

The present-day Church of Saint Catherine of Alexandria was consecrated on August 19, 1703. It stands north of Libotenice, away from the village. The Chapel of Saint Isidore is located in the center of Libotenice and was built in 1786.

The classic trampers' settlement Žíznivá osada was established in Libotenice in 1962. It has its own music group and a regular meeting place in the Libotenice cultural center.

Getting Around

The alternative Route 2A of the Elbe Cycle Route passes through Libotenice. The harbor has a floating landing stage for vessels up to 55 × 8.2 meters, as well as for small watercraft with a total length of up to 20 meters. There are also eight angled berths at a floating jetty.
