Černouček: Hotels and Accommodation

Above the eastern part of Černouček village square, on the site of a former cemetery, stands the late Baroque Church of Saint Bartholomew. The present church was built in the Baroque style between 1769 and 1774. Černouček is also a stop on bus route 617.

Culture

In front of the church gate stands an 18th-century statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, leading a small boy. The statue was completely restored in 1999 and reinstalled at its original location. A memorial plaque on the birthplace of Jiří Krása commemorates his execution by the Nazis in 1943. Archaeological excavations took place in Černouček in 1997. The writer J. V. Pleva also taught at the local school in 1929–1930.

Together with the Chapel of Saint Joseph in Roudnice nad Labem, the Church of Saint Bartholomew is considered the last domed building in the Podřipsko region. The church contains an organ in a neo-Romanesque case dating from 1877; the present organ was made by Karel Anton Eisenhut.

Geographical Location

Near Černouček is Ostrov Chateau, which is considered a castle. Svatý Jiří, which is considered a church, is also located nearby. Vidrholec and Sovice are located in the surrounding area and are each considered a mountain.

In the wider regional surroundings of Černouček are the Theresienstadt concentration camp and ghetto, which is considered a historical site, as well as Hořice and Boušov, which are each considered a mountain. Hazmburk, which is considered a ruin, is also located in this wider regional area.
