Skorotice lies entirely within the Svratecká hornatina Nature Park. More than half of its area is covered by forests. Sýkoř, a mountain, lies nearby; the surrounding area also includes Babylon, Víckov and Střela, which are also mountains.

Hiking

A circular hiking route leads from Nedvědice via Skorotice, Hrádky, Káčiny, Černovice, Brumov, Osiky, the Sýkořský les forest and Louky back to Nedvědice.

Culture and History

The wooden log house No. 2 in the Chlébské district of Skorotice is a state-protected cultural monument. A former mill building, which is also state-protected, is located in the lower part of Chlébské. The Chapel of St John the Baptist in Chlébské dates from 1872.

The shingle-roofed Chapel of the Virgin Mary stands on Skorotice’s rectangular village square and is considered a state-protected cultural monument. The former school building in Skorotice dates from 1895. The older history of the village includes the fact that Skorotice belonged to the Pernštejn estate and was first mentioned in written sources at the beginning of the 14th century.
