The municipal area of Polnička includes the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area and the Pod Kamenným vrchem Nature Reserve.
The Pod Kamenným vrchem Nature Reserve comprises an extensive complex of meadows with a mosaic of marsh communities, wet meadows and meadowsweet stands. This transitions into wetlands with sedge stands and secondary reed beds around a pond.
Events and family activities
The Silvestrovský běh, a cross-country ski race on historic skis, takes place annually in Polnička for children and adults. The Polničský masopust, a masked procession, also passes through the village every year. The Jarní jarmark is an annual handicraft event.
At Salón Expres Vagón Polnička, the children's railway runs on a 300-metre-long narrow-gauge railway. Salón Expres Vagón Polnička is an outdoor amusement park with a children's railway, motor cars, a cableway and all-terrain quad bikes.
Culture and history
The Chapel of the Guardian Angel with its tower is the dominant building on Polnička's village square. It was built in 1902–1903 according to plans by the builder František Křelina from Žďár.
Salón Expres Vagón Polnička began operating in 1993, after a decommissioned railway carriage had been converted into a restaurant.
Two furnaces from Polnička's former ironworks stood at the present house numbers 114 and 163–165.
