Nová Včelnice: Baroque Castle, Cemetery and Landscape

Several memorial and exhibition sites form part of the townscape. The war memorial in Nová Včelnice is made of granite and includes a sandstone lion. The Bedřich Smetana monument dates from 1940 and bears a plaque with the inscription “Tvůrci české hudby”.

The Jewish cemetery in Nová Včelnice was established in 1800 on Šibeniční vrch. The grounds contain around 120 gravestones dating from the first half of the 19th century to the beginning of the Second World War. There is also a gate there today. The chronological span of the gravestones and the historic entrance feature give the cemetery its own place among Nová Včelnice’s sites of remembrance.

The Karla Fleischmann Gallery primarily displays works by Czech Jewish artists, especially from the first half of the 20th century. The castle, monuments, cemetery and gallery each add different cultural accents: architecture, remembrance and art can be combined in a thematically diverse stay.

Kozlov Pond is a 10-hectare fishing water that does not contain salmonids. Its designated area and classification as fishing waters make it a specific destination for spending time by the water, without requiring any further characteristics.

A cycling tour from Deštná to Nová Včelnice follows cycle paths 1182 and 1239. Cycle route 1239 runs via Horní Radouň, Dívčí Kopy and Žďár to Nová Včelnice. Before such a cycling tour, current route conditions as well as traffic restrictions and road closures can be checked.
