Borek combines a distinctive village center with cycle paths, an educational trail, and a unique waterscape. The village is located in an area characterized by forests and agricultural land; the Železné hory (Iron Mountains) extend northeast of Borek.
Nature
Centuries-old lime trees characterize Borek’s village green. Lom Borek, a former quarry that is now flooded, is located nearby. The flooded former Lom Borek quarry is used for scuba diving and is the most popular tourist destination in the area around Borek.
Getting around
The Štoky–Třemošnice cycle path runs through Borek. The cycle route through Borek runs from Třemošnice to Štoky, is 58.5 kilometers long, and runs predominantly along existing Class I and II roads. A cycle path connects Borek with the Ostružno district. The “Cesta poznání” educational trail also passes through Borek.
Culture
The chapel on Borek’s village green was built in 1913 using funds raised through a public collection. The village is also home to an old stone limestone cross with a short inscription in Gothic script.

Borek is connected to car and bus traffic via Road II/345.
