Lipnice Nad Sazavou: Hotels and accommodations

At the Folková Lipnice festival, which was officially called “Písní za mír” at the time, playwright and dissident Václav Havel gave his first public speech in more than 19 years on September 3, 1988, in the amphitheater below the castle.

The Jaroslav Hašek Memorial is a small exhibition in the writer’s house about his life and work. Haškova Lipnice has taken place in the natural amphitheater below the castle since 1959. At the “Kování na Lipnici 26” event, visitors can watch stonemasons and stone sculptors at work in front of the castle.

The short, marked route “Městskou branou k hrobu Jaroslava Haška” leads from the square in Lipnice past the ruins of the town gate, the ruins of Bílá věž, the Chapel of Saint Anthony, and the old cemetery with the grave of the writer Jaroslav Hašek.

Haškova cesta is an approximately 12 km-long educational trail with seven stops that runs from Světlá nad Sázavou to Lipnice nad Sázavou and retraces the journey of Jaroslav Hašek and the painter Jaroslav Panuška during their joint trip from Světlá nad Sázavou to Lipnice nad Sázavou in 1921.

In the immediate vicinity of Lipnice nad Sázavou, there are old, water-filled granite quarries with sculptures; in the old, water-filled granite quarries near Lipnice, Bretschneiderovo ucho is part of the Národní památník odposlechu.

The route “Okolo zatopených lomů k Hlavě XXII.” is marked from the square in Lipnice, where there is also an orientation map. A clearly marked, color-coded trail connects the artworks of the Národní památník odposlechu.
