Malčín: Hotels and Accommodation

Malčín was first mentioned in written records in 1358 and at that time belonged to Vilémov Monastery. The settlement was built on the edge of a large border forest that separated Bohemia from Moravia until the 14th century.

The war memorial in Malčín bears the names of the local residents who fell for their country in the World War.

The historic Hoglova huť glassworks was located in Dobrá Voda near Malčín; it was founded in 1723 by J. J. Hogle. Clear glass and non-decolorized so-called forest glass were produced there; goblets, chalices, small bottles, as well as beer and wine glasses were also made.

In the immediate vicinity of Malčín lies the hill of Bučiny, also called Malčín. Žižkova studánka is located approximately 450 metres north of Dobrá Voda, a settlement in the municipality of Malčín, on a marked forest path with yellow hiking trail markings. A local legend says that Jan Žižka stopped at Žižkova studánka while being pursued by King Sigismund.
