History and Villagescape
The present-day château in Nová Ves u Chotěboře was built in 1873 after the former château had been demolished. A spacious château park extends around the château. The château is not open to the public, as it is used as a children's home.
The Church of St. John of Nepomuk dates from 1816. It is a Neoclassical church with a cruciform nave and is open to the public on Christian holidays and during regular services. In the square in front of the school building, there is also a monument to those who fell in the First World War: it depicts a statue of a soldier holding a tall rectangular slab.

The two hills of Šidlákov [Uhelná Příbram-Pukšice] and Za Stodolami [Nejepín] are located in the immediate vicinity of Nová Ves u Chotěboře. The mountains of Bučina and Krkanka lie in the wider surrounding region.
