Stepanov: Hotels and accommodations

Štěpánov Castle is located in Štěpánov, a locality of the municipality of Bezděkov. The late Baroque, two-winged, one-story building has a small turret on a triangular ground plan.

The castle was built in the second half of the 18th century on the site of an earlier fortress. A small 18th-century chapel of the Virgin Mary is located next to the castle. In 1858, another story was added to both wings of the western façade. The renovated castle can be used for celebrations, corporate events, and other social events. The Štěpánov locality in the municipality of Bezděkov also has a small stone cross and a niche chapel.

The area of the municipality of Bezděkov, including the Štěpánov locality, lies within the Železné hory Protected Landscape Area. Part of the marl slope west of Štěpánov lies in its Zone I. The wooded slopes above the Cerhovka west and east of Štěpánov, as well as the extensions of forest areas reaching into the cadastral territory, lie in Zone II of the Železné hory Protected Landscape Area.

The Mokřadlo Nature Reserve is located near the municipalities of Bezděkov, Podmoklany, and Sloupno in the Železné hory Protected Landscape Area, on the site of a former pond on the Cerhovka stream.

A yellow-marked hiking trail branches off at Štěpánov Castle. It comes from the direction of Slatiňany, leads to Hařilova Lhotka, and ends in Bílek.

The paved path ran through the forest for about half of its length.

Bus connections to Štěpánov were available from Chotěboř and Ždírec nad Doubravou.
