Arnolec lies in a gentle hollow below the wooded elevation of Arnolecké hory. At the same time, the village is situated on the southern slopes of Arnolecké hory below Havlina.
Nature
The RychtářskĂ˝ rybnĂk pond, a protected area designated as PP, is located within the cadastral area of Arnolec. This area is home to a large population of the specially protected plant species Puchýřka Ăştlá (Coleanthus subtilis).
Culture and History
Arnolec is home to the neo-Romanesque Chapel of St. Wendelin, built in 1874. It was restored from 2004 to 2007. The Chapel of St. Anne was built in the 1670s and 1680s, stands in the fields south of Arnolec, and was completely restored in 2019.
The memorial plaque to Josef Toufar was unveiled on October 20, 1991. The “Baba” atonement cross stands on the road between Stáj and Arnolec, about 1 km from Arnolec. The atonement cross known as “Baba” commemorates the violent death of a foot courier on the former route from Bohemia to Moravia.
Cycling Route
The “Crossing of the Arnolecké Mountains” cycling route runs through Arnolec and Stáj before reaching the ridge of Arnolecké hory. On the same route, Josef Toufar’s birthplace in Arnolec is listed as a tourist attraction.
