Klatovec: Hotels and Accommodation

Nature

The northwestern slope of Javořice lies in the cadastral area of Klatovec. One kilometre east of the village are Zhejral Pond, the bog, and the bog meadows on its northern and western shores. Zhejral comprises a pond, a bog, and bog meadows that form a complex with rare fauna and flora. Around 500 butterfly species have been recorded in the Zhejral area.

Trails

The educational trail “Discover the Land Beneath Javořice” leads through the area of the Zhejral National Nature Monument and a Natura 2000 site. Opened on 7 November 2007, the educational trail consists of two overlapping circuits: a shorter one with the first five stations and a longer one with all nine stations.

Culture and History

The former rural studio and open-air gallery of the artist couple Míla Doleželová and Jiří Mareš at Klatovec No. 26 are a cultural monument. Míla Doleželová and Jiří Mareš lived and worked in the rural house in Klatovec in the 1960s. The “In the Footsteps of the Painter Míla Doleželová” route leads to the cultural monument at Klatovec No. 26, which was declared a cultural monument in 2023.

A stone table still stands at Studánka Páně, commemorating the secret religious services of the Bohemian Brethren during the Counter-Reformation.

The named mountain landmarks Za Vrškem, Široký kámen, Skalka, and Babí hora are located in the immediate surroundings of Klatovec.
